For Spring/Summer 2012 Superated present ‘Pier,’ an offering inspired by the Danube docks. At times, this inspiration is taken quite literally, with sailor knot tops and cord jewellery, but is best when kept subtle through the earthy palette splashed with brights, and exaggerated silhouettes. The tailoring for spring summer appears both streamlined and oversized; and is the overall highlight of the collection.
Generously cut trousers sit a little higher on the hip, and are drawn in with an elastic waist for contemporary comfort; whereas the slim fit variety are shaped neatly to the body. The upper wear utilises clever cutting techniques and contrasting fabrics, to give these garments a humorous personality. Cotton shirts hug the torso tightly, then are often paired with unlikely fabrics, and patterned bow ties.
